Jim Pipkin’s album “Rollin’ the Dice” debuted to international radio at #3 on the APD Americana/AAA Global Radio Indicator, and spent three weeks in the Top Five. The release concert enjoyed the largest attendance ever for an Acoustic Music Series concert at Higley Center for the Performing Arts.

The hardest question most performing songwriters have to answer is “what kind of music do you play?” My answer is “Americana” – a nice wide open genre that covers the spectrum from Folk to Rockabilly. The songs here run that same spectrum. There are fully produced Country tracks here as well as simple acoustic ballads, just voice and guitar, played the way I’ve performed them in venues from the World Folk Showcase in Washington DC to Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe.

This album came together over two decades of travels through the West and Southwest, with side trips to Montreal, Los Angeles, Saltillo Mexico and Lizard Lick, North Carolina.
